Currently seeking a Network & Security Engineer to be based in Coventry for an initial 12 months contract basis.
The role requires an experienced hands-on network/security engineer/consultant who will be able to work as a subject matter expert working within the wider Cyber Defence team to progress a range of security related projects within the Customer network
The candidate will be responsible for delivery of security related projects from initial low level design through build, test and migration phases. Regular attendance on site to facilitate project definition and delivery. Preparation of network and security infrastructure documentation using appropriate tools (e.g. Visio). Support the deployment and test of new network and security infrastructure components.
Candidate Requirements
Strong and current skills are required with CheckPoint firewalls and F5 BIG IP LTM and GTM.
Recent, hands-on experience with designing, building & documenting security solutions on the above technologies.
Experience working within large corporate grade network deployments including hands-on familiarity with routers, switches, WAP, MPLS, etc.
In addition to the core skill requirements above it would be helpful to have expertise working across a range of industry recognised network and security vendors, for example; Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Bluecoat, Cisco FirePower/Sourcefire, VNS/Virtualisation.
Excellent documentation skills particularly using Word and Visio.
Excellent troubleshooting skills (technical and non-technical)
