Our well-established global client in the financial sector is looking for an Automation Test Engineer to join their expanding and successful team based in the heart of Cardiff. The Automation Test Engineer will have the opportunity to work with a modern tech stack and with cutting edge technologies to have a positive impact and contribution to the company's success. The Automation Test Engineer will be joining a collaborative and agile team and will be responsible for assisting in delivering quality solutions and services whilst working closely with the Software Engineers.

The Automation Test Engineer will also be responsible for planning test approaches, creating and executing tests and test activities and analysing the results to ensure that software enhancements meet business and quality requirements. The successful Automation Test Engineer will have demonstrable experience in quality assurance and project delivery and a proven track record of working in customer focused environments and have excellent communication skills. I

Required skills for the Automation Test Engineer

Professional testing experience (manual and automated)

Strong experience and knowledge of Quality Assurance and methodologies

Experience carrying out testing activities at various levels (functional, UAT, regression, performance)

Proven ability of creating and executing automation tests (using Cucumber/Selenium)

Experience working with databases including MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle

A strong familiarity with test management tools like Jira or Confluence

Experience using source code management tools such as GIT or SVN

Previous experience working with development, product and project management teams

Previous experience working within an Agile environment

This role would be ideal for an Automation Test Engineer who is looking for a fresh challenge and to develop their current skill set. A Test Engineer who is keen to work with a global company in a growing sector and to gain exposure to Big Data Technologies.

This role is commutable from all of Cardiff and most of South Wales, including: Barry, Penarth, Newport, Bristol, Swansea, Bridgend, Port Talbot, Neath and Bath.
