Senior SQL Server DBA, Microsoft, T-SQL, Design, Solutions Engineer
Our client are seeking a versatile Senior SQL Server DBA to join their technical team in their Head Office just outside of Swindon. The Senior SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the company's, and the customer's (large blue-chip organisations), Microsoft SQL Database estate including the creation of a number of new Data Warehouses. The position of Senior SQL Server DBA is an exciting and challenging role where you will be heavily involved in SQL DBA, Systems Engineering (3rd /4th line) and designing and deploying Microsoft solutions into complex enterprise systems
The ideal candidate for the Senior SQL Server DBA position will be once with experience mentoring and supporting a team but also have the technical expertise to be able to develop complex queries and develop complex and robust technical solutions. Key Responsibilities include:
Design and deployment of SQL clusters
3rd / 4th line support for Database availability
Developing scripts to ingest data into Data Warehouses for Management Information reporting
Writing a number of complex queries and stored procedures
Developing dashboards that report on SQL health and performance
Designing and deploying Microsoft solutions into enterprise systems
Develop technical routines and instructions for Support Teams.
Skills and Experience needed (in order of importance):
SQL Server Database administration and design.
SQL reporting studio and complex query writing, T-SQL.
SQL maintenance tasks and stored procedures
Development and scripting expertise in PowerShell and C# and .NET
Microsoft/SQL cluster design, configuration and support.
Microsoft replication technologies.
Windows Server infrastructure design, deploy, administration and management.
Automated software packaging and distribution
Group Policy design, deploy, administration and management.
VMWare vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V product administration and management.
Due to the nature of the work and the clients you will be working with, the successful Senior SQL Server DBA will need to go through SC Clearance.
Working hours for this role: Full time, permanent, 9-5.30 Mon - Fri.
Our client's office is based in between Oxford and Swindon - commutable by car from places such as Witney, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Hungerford, Newbury, Faringdon, Watchfield and many more besides.
