Junior Linux Support Engineer, £30,000, Media CityPackage:
Salary: £30,000 plus benefits
Hours: 12pm - 8pm Monday - Friday
Holidays: 25 + Bank Holidays. 5 sick days that if aren't taken, convert into holidays for the yr after.
Bonus: 10%

I am looking for a Junior Linux Support Engineer for an innovative, cutting edge technology company, based in a desirable and easily commutable location in the heart of Salford Quays. They can offer you the opportunity to be part of next generation of software platforms for global market leaders.
The Role:
As a member of this technical team, you will be expected to work closely with the Principal Engineer and the Technical Services Manager in order to prioritize work load, resolve internal and external issues, as well as:Maintaining a Linux environmentBespoke platform and database maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem resolutionApplication troubleshooting working with developersDocument procedures that affect software/hardware configuration changesLiaise with 3rd party service suppliersMonitoring and responding to critical systems on a rota basisSkills needed -2 yrs in a Linux/UNIX environment (Debian, CentOS, RedHat Enterprise)Background in supporting software or applicationsKnowledge of Shell Script, PHP, Python, Perl or RubyAwareness of Cloud (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure)Desirable -Knowledge of automation/configuration tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, SVN, Git)Scripting language (Shell, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby)ITIL awarenessSQL or MySQL
