VPBX / SIP ENGINEER

Would you like the opportunity to be a part of a joint venture with BT? The client is leading the market in fixed mobile convergence and is looking to double in size, moving from a start up into an SME.

We are seeking VPBX & SIP Engineers responsible for supporting VPBX and IMS converged communication services. Specific role requires the ability to troubleshoot SIP call processing between core network nodes and over a myriad of IP links to customer site-based router, switches and devices.

Starting salary: c£45k + 10% bonus + car allowance + more

Location: Hub is Hatfield

FT/PT: Full time

Overview: Main purpose of the role is to support VPBX and IMS converged communication services. Specifically role requires the ability to troubleshoot SIP call processing between core network nodes and over a myriad of IP links to customer site-based router, switches and devices. Requires a good understanding of the fundamentals of the client solution combined with solid foundations in Voice IP.

Experience:

* Demonstrable expertise in deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting and testing of VoIP and VPBX technologies.

* Good understanding of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Request for Comment (RFC) standards and be able to interpret different interpretation of standards

* Call Control/Call Signalling Experience, including fundamental knowledge of IMS & VoLTE

* Deep level of knowledge in computer networking (e.g. TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP)

* Expert knowledge in SIP messaging including reading traces or problem isolation

* Good level of scripting principles, well versed in database administration, experience working with Python or similar scripting languages

* Demonstrates sound judgment in solving problems, identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions.

* Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail.

* Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to multi-task, prioritizing multiple objectives and initiatives.

* Comfortable working on a Linux environment / worked in a Linux server environment and understands basic commands

* Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

* Able to work independently and as part of a team.

* Experience managing network upgrade projects

* Experience with VoIP as a Service

* Experience in virtualized data centres

* Cisco certifications (CCIE, CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCDP) a plus

* Experience with one of the following vendors (Cisco, Fortinet, Broad soft, Huawei, Juniper)
