Assistant Designer - Menswear - Paddington, LONDON - £150/£200 - 3 Months
The work location is in Paddington, LONDON and is a 3 months contract.
Pay rate is between £150 - £200 per day.
The role is working for a well established, multi-national retailer and specialises in clothing, home and luxury product.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
* Work alongside the Designer to deliver the global product direction
* Support the Designer with the co-ordination of day to day activities
* Support the Designer in producing a high standard of CADs, Tech Pack via PLM ensuring a high hit rate and delivering Direct Design targets
* Work with the Designers to meet critical path deadlines and deliver the right designs, at the right time to meet critical paths
* To have ownership of swim / active ranges under the direction of the designer.
* Support the designer and buyer with OTB ranges and monthly drop ranges.
* Support effective working relationships with our Sourcing Office teams and Suppliers
* Research global retail trends under the direction of the Designer and Identify and communicate key opportunities
* Assist in creating design boards, design publications and design DPS presentations
* Attend and participate in department fit sessions (applicable for levels 2 & 3 only)
* Begin to take the initiative to own a product/product type under the Designers direction
Key skills and experience
* Expert in the field of design with design experience within the Retail industry (not applicable for entry level 1 Assistant Designer)
* Strong design and CAD skills with an eye for detail
* Knowledge of trend interpretation, current competitive marketplace and product design
* Experience in Direct Design sourced product, working with Technology/Design and Buying to create high standards of CAD and Tech Packs via PLM
* High level of proficiency in Design related CAD software to include Illustrator, Photoshop and In Design
* Multi task orientated with the ability to work to tight deadlines to the critical path
* Strong communication and influencing skills
