We need 5 Delivery Managers to work on projects delivering:

the technical capability for our field operations teams

the implementation of our Google Cloud platforms

our online data collection service products

You'll be working collaboratively within a fully agile multidisciplinary team, in a digital by default environment that puts user needs at the heart of everything we do. You'll be responsible for the effective delivery of complex, high-risk products and services, utilising your strong communication skills to engage senior stakeholders. You'll also manage risks, budgets and people within your team.

We are driving transformation change through new technologies and ways of working in a modern, technically focused, data driven organisation. Over the next 3 years we're scaling up to deliver the 2021 Census, the highest traffic service in government with over 25 million users. We're offering the opportunity to work on the latest scalable digital technologies, to ensure this incredibly high-profile project meets the needs of the widely diverse user groups.

Role responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

building and maintaining motivated teams, making sure there is an iterative plan to work towards

protecting the team and making sure the team collaborates, communicates and focuses on what is most important

coaching team members and others, facilitating continuous improvement and applying the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques for their environment

proactively managing dependencies, overcoming obstacles and getting the best value against constraints

Person Specification:

You'll be an expert in:

a range of Agile and Lean tools and techniques, both knowledge of and leading using, with an ability to coach within and outside of teams

communicating effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries, understanding the context

maintaining delivery momentum, driving teams and setting the pace, ensuring teams are working towards delivery commitments

the continuous approach to planning, forecasting, estimating, managing uncertainty, metrics and measurements, contingency planning and road mapping
