We're supporting a ground-breaking Medical Device technology business in Coventry in recruiting a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in to the team with the common goal of creating innovative products that can identify heart problems in their early phases.

With the flagship product moving closer and closer to commercialization, now is the perfect time to join, as the business looks to grow and build upon their current successes.

You will play an integral part from a software perspective. Your role will encompass all aspects of the software development lifecycle on bare-metal embedded systems.

You must have a background in safety-critical systems, whether it be from automotive, rail, aerospace or medical, however if you're not specifically au fait with medical device software standards, this is an area that you will be mentored and supported in until you're fully up and running.

We are looking for a Senior level person however if you are in the earlier stages of your career, the team is set up perfectly to facilitate this option, although you must be a quick-learning, problem-solving bright spark.

Key Skills
-Expert knowledge of C programming language.
-Knowledge of interrupt handling, bootloaders, real-time system response, flash operations and peripheral programming.
-Defensive programming and safety-critical programming knowledge such as MISRA.
-Understanding of microcontrollers' architectural principles and of the 'building blocks' of a modern embedded processor.
-Knowledge of embedded system hardware peripheral blocks low-level operation (such as GPIO, ADC, SPI, USB, UART, etc.)
-Design/debugging tools and instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, programmable power supplies, logic analysers, JTAG).
-Good understanding of ARM processors architecture
  
Desirable skills
-Understanding of Assemblers (ARM, Thumb, Thumb2)
-Software engineering adhering to FDA specification
-Understanding of RTOS principles
-Ability to create software for Windows desktop OS
-Knowledge of Windows OS from programmer's perspective
-Knowledge of C# programming language
-Knowledge of Python language
