Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a UAT Manager for an initial 6 month contract based in Edinburgh on a rate of c.£400-£450/day (outside of IR35).

Responsibilities:

* Provide oversight and direction for UAT test leads and testers through all phases of testing and end -to-end management of UAT.

* Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to UAT testers, some of whom will be inexperienced.

* Ensure UAT results are clearly documented and auctioned in line with the overall test strategy and approach.

* Ensure that risks and issues, identified through UAT, are recorded and escalated in line with the Risks and Issues Management strategies.

* Support UAT test leads and testers in establishing effective working relationships with Product Owners to develop an understanding of their detailed requirements and expected functionality in order to validate that UAT is performed appropriately so that defects are found as easily as possible in the delivery cycle.

* Matrix manage the co-ordination and planning of UAT resources across IT projects.

* Have an overview of the overall testing approach to help inform the level of confidence in the product.

* Act as a challenge to Product Owners to ensure that acceptance of product is based on a fit for purpose approach rather than a desire to gold plate through the end-to-end UAT process.

* Manage UAT requirements to BAU systems, which have been affected as a consequence of Futures decisions and challenges.

Requirements:

* Experience in leading UAT teams for big programmes.

* Experience in leading at least 15 UAT testers.

* Experience of designing tailored test processes based on the project and business requirements.

* Experience in writing new Test Strategies, Plans and overall estimations.

* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders and other test teams in the programme.

* Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to present data and results in a clear and concise manner.

Desirable Skills:

* Experience of working in an Agile IT development environment.

* Practical experience of using Test Management and Defect Management tools.

* An ISTQB Advanced Test Manager.
