Role Purpose:

A member of the application team responsible for the delivery of ABAP development projects based on technical specifications.

*The role will provide technical expertise for system design, testing, implementation and support, being his/her primary focus during the design and development phases of projects and user support.

*Responsible for managing and developing the skills to ensure constant delivery of high quality tested applications that minimise downtime and rework

*You will be subject matter experts in design and development of SAP solutions against agreed and defined business requirements

*Ensure delivery of and deliver good customer service through delivery of consistent, well documented, agreed developments for the SAP platform.

Main Responsibilities:

Deliver SAP development projects for the Babcock's SAP estate primarily for ECC, SRM, HCM, SCM, PI/PO, Fiori and BW

*Support (Escalations & Task forces, MCS Back office) including Optimization, Assessment, technical integration/ validation, empowering training and workshops

*Deliver root cause analysis, provides solutions, and delivers services for specific fields / areas

*Ensure 2nd and 3rd line support issues are delivered to agreed SLAs and work with the Service Delivery team to agree new SLAs and review impacts on resource levels

*Use specified toolsets to develop solutions to an agreed quality standard working with the quality and test manager to explore improvements

*Follow and suggest improvements for documented governance procedures to ensure the correct procedures are followed to ensure all development work packages are delivered to the agreed quality standard

*Ensure and deliver all 2nd and 3rd line support for ABAP development is delivered to agreed SLAs

*Ensure any configurations and development work is completed and tested within agreed timescales and delivered to the standard and/or management application agreed with the Quality and Test Lead

*Identify new ways to exploit functionality in SAP platform in accordance with the application roadmap and to ensure we minimise the complexity, reduce maintenance overhead and deliver solutions if not possible using functionality within SAP applications

*Ensure any changes are agreed with the stakeholder community and align with the business and IT strategy and delivered in line with the Application and PMO standards and processes

*Support the Application team in a consistent approach to supplier and client relationship management, identifying issues and improvements where necessary

*Manage consistent application and systems documentation through all of the application lifecycle, using an agreed single application suite with white box configurations

*Identify and help implement measures to actively improve the process documentation, delivering a consistent approach for the application team and the business

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

*5-10 years of working on a complex SAP system environment

*Broad knowledge of SAP functional areas particularly in ECC, SRM, HCM, SCM.

*Working knowledge with regards to PI/PO, Fiori, Portal 7.3 and BW

*2-3 years experience of Object Oriented programming within SAP using; ALV and ABAP lists, Sapscripts and smart forms, Dialogue programming, Interfaces, BADIs/BAPIs, WebDynpro, Adobe Interactive forms, SAP Web GUI, SAP UI5, RFC, ICF, Connectors and Web Services

*Extensive experience of managing the creation of work packages to ensure the delivery of technical solutions to an agreed standard

*Experience of managing internal and external suppliers and monitoring performance through KPIs to ensure specified SLAs are met

*Ability to deal with and manage conflict whilst building successful business relationships across a range of stakeholder groups

*Management of resolution of technical application issues and problems with suppliers and internal teams

*Bachelor's Degree in an Information Systems Field or preferably 5 years plus experience developing, testing and documenting application configuration and change

*Experience using Team Foundation Server or HP ALM toolset

Suitable candidates will hold current SC clearance or be eligible to go through a clearance.
