A new opportunity has arisen for an IT Security Engineer to join a leading blue-chip organisation based in Hatfield. This role is perfect for an ambitious candidate who is able to work under pressure and is looking to grow their career!

The successful IT Security Engineer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the IT Security landscape and ensuring the company are protected from both internal and external cyber security threats. As the IT Security Engineer, you will be the first point of call for any security incidents that may occur and will have the opportunity to work closely with key stakeholders covering areas such as GDPR, PCI and intrusion prevention.

Key Skills required for the IT Security Engineer:

* A broad technical background covering operating systems, networks, cloud and software development.

* Detailed knowledge of network concepts and security protection methods and systems with the ability to troubleshoot network issues using tools such as NMAP, Wireshark, NetFlow.

* Experience of administering enterprise-scale security services such as SIEM, Anti-Virus, DLP or Content Filtering.

* Good understanding of the security community, toolsets and knowledge sources.

* Experience with implementing and operating to SOC2, ISO27001, PCI-DSS technical standards is advantageous.

* A 2:1 or first-class degree in Information Security, Computer Science is desirable.

The role of IT Security Engineer will involve:

* Identifying, evaluating and implementing security applications, systems and tools.

* Helping develop and refine the overall security architecture.

* Managing, maintaining and monitoring all security systems, such as the SIEM.

* Investigating security alerts and respond to security incidents.

* Carrying out in-depth cyber threat investigations.

Salary: up to £65,000 + benefits
