Job Title: Materials Team Leader

Location: Rotherham, Yorkshire

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent, Full time - 37.5hrs per week

Hours of Work: 07:00 - 16:00 Monday - Thursday and 07:00 - 15:00 Friday

Established for over 35 years and now one of the North West's leading & multi award winning Engineering companies, the Company is looking to recruit a Fabrication Shift Manager to join their team in Rotherham.

Responsibilities:

* To lead and organise the Material Handler team to provide material to the Laser, Profile and Water Jet machines to reduce / eliminate machine waiting times thus ensuring orders are produced on time in full.

* Ensure the team focus on correct receipt and offloading of metal deliveries. Ensure that the material is suitable quality for cutting and that the Delivery Notes and Test Certificates are immediately passed onto the Purchasing Department. Ensuring all material is correctly identified and stored with the correct location recorded in order to be entered into the Radan system.

* Promote and encourage best practice in material handling and storage to ensure a safe working environment and complying with Health and Safety standards, hence reducing the risk of accidents and damage to the materials.

* Ensure that all the material storage areas are effectively utilised especially the racking systems with stock rotation and elimination of 'cannot finds'. To maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the material storage areas to a high standard at all times.

* Support and train team members and other staff in using the relevant FLT's, cranes and handling equipment to ensure safe working practices (maximum of 4 hrs/week average)

* Provide effective communications between all relevant departments, namely Purchasing, Programming, Contract Co-ordinators, Production and Transport.

* Assist in any areas of the Company as required from time to time, to ensure the smooth running of the operation and to meet customer requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

* Ability to work efficiently and build effective working relationships

* Overhead crane / slinging & lifting skills

* Goods In / Warehousing experience

* Fork Lift Truck - Counterbalance Licence

* Experience in a similar role/environment
