Description

The purpose of this role is to support the development of our world class cloud based environmental software which provides environmental submissions and solutions to our international customers. You will be responsible for overseeing the development work being done by our expanding development team. You will also act as a mentor and be expected to deliver training to new or lower-level developers. The role will suit an existing development team leader or an experienced developer who wants to progress their career.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, manage, coach and mentor the software development team

Ensure the team are meeting company goals, KPIs and development targets

Facilitate scrum activities including stakeholder meetings, sprint planning, retrospectives and daily scrums

Completion of development tasks through Scrum Agile methodology

Analysis of functional requirements documentation

Continuous deployment of software obeying release processes and meeting quality at all stages

Required Attributes:

Essential

At least 5 years' experience in a software development role

Proven record of leading development teams within Agile Scrum methodologies

Experience with OOP in C# (.NET, .NET Core, MVC, WCF, Docker Containers) and the Microsoft .NET IDE

Experience of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL and its use for OLAP

Strong understanding of cloud-based technologies (Amazon Web Services)

Industry curiosity and motivated to learn new skills and technologies

Excellent communicator with an ability to inspire and collaborate with a range of stakeholders

Bachelor's degree, professional qualifications or relevant experience

Permission to work in the UK, by the start of employment

Desirable

Experience of agile planning and tracking in Azure DevOps (Visual Studio Team Services, TFS)

Broad and extensive knowledge of the software development process and its technologies

Ability to hire, train and evaluate staff, hold performance reviews and meet team KPIs

In-depth knowledge of cloud based and serverless architectures

An interest in developing environmental regulations and technologies

UK driving licence
