Leading the change
Working in one of the most prosperous and fastest-growing cities in the UK, you'll have the opportunity to determine innovative solutions to support transformation. As our senior IT, digital and partnership manager, you'll share our sense of pride and passion for working in local government and making a difference to people's lives.
We're radically reshaping our Council services. Digital and ICT are at the core of our transformation. We're continuously looking at improving how we operate and how we work with the city's residents, businesses and visitors.
Our digital and ICT services have a central role to play in all our services from looking after our most vulnerable residents and keeping the city clean, to running excellent schools and supporting the city's economy.
Like all UK councils, we face a significant financial challenge. We've implemented a transformation programme to ensure services are delivered effectively with the support of a strong corporate centre. Successful delivery of this programme is central to all our leadership roles.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for a dynamic and engaging individual who understands the vital role this key service plays in driving forward our strategic transformation, helping us meet the needs of our services, colleagues and customers.
As well as extensive experience of managing a complex and integrated corporate digital service you'll thrive on the challenge and opportunity of working for an organisation which delivers diverse services and is central to the running of Scotland's capital city.
We have over 18,000 desktops/laptops, provide 150 different business applications and deliver across 300 sites through a mix of in-house and outsourced support models. You'll manage an annual service budget of around £10 million and a non-staffing budget for digital services of £25.4 million a year. You'll lead a team of senior managers with over 100 people in your team.
You will:
be responsible for the development of sustainable strategic plans, service delivery and development
identify opportunities for continual improvement
manage and monitor the performance and commercial viability of our significant contract with strategic ICT partner as well as other contractors
make sure that the service offers best value
support the Council's democratic process, including scrutiny, local development committees, meetings of the Council and elected members.
