About the Role:
You will play a key role in designing and developing an online application (a single portal for libraries and publishers that acts as an information management tool for journal entitlements) that provides a mechanism to capture and clarify subscription history and to manage authorisation of access to archived material.
Essential Skills:
*Previous experience in software development, preferably in publishing, scholarly communications or a related field.
*Demonstrable experience of designing and building systems using the following technologies:
oPython
oDjango
oUnit and automated web testing
*Knowledge of Git and version control.
*Enthusiasm for writing clean, maintainable, reusable, open-source software.
*Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
*Ability to plan for and work to fixed deadlines.
*Excellent organisational skills.
Desirable Skills:
*Experience in front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS).
*Some knowledge of journals publishing data and terminology would be desirable.
