Senior Infrastructure Migration Engineer / Contract / 450-550 / 6 Months / Richmond

I am looking for an experienced DATA CENTRE infrastructure migration engineer who has experience in relocating data centres in a hands-on lead role on a large scale (10s of servers)

Previous experience using NIMBLE SAN is highly desirable

Technical Expertise

Must Have:

* Previous experience with DATA CENTRE migration projects using 10s of servers

* Nimble SAN (If not: NetApp, Dell Server, Cisco Networking)

* AWS Storage Gateway

* Network and Security Experience (L3 and L2 networking, WAN/LAN/WLAN, Load-balancer, Firewall / IDS/IDP, Forward and Reverse Proxy, 2FA, S2S VPN)

* Database - Oracle, Microsoft SQL

Desirable:

* Server virtualisation - VMware ESX

* Operating System - Windows 2008/2012/2016

* Core Infrastructure services - Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, File and Print services

* High availability cluster features in Wintel, storage and databases within datacentre and datacentres distributed geographically

* Experience in design and implementation RPO/RTO DR/BCP solutions

* Having previously worked for a service Provider, integrator or similar

The Project

In this role, we are looking to build an experienced data centre migration team to help us relocate one of our data centres to a new Colo facility within a face paced project environment.

This is a senior technical leadership role and the individual will need to oversee the other technical resources in the team and ultimately be accountable for the technical quality of delivery.

You will be responsible for helping shape the migration strategy to include planning, service migration model, method of data load during migration execution whilst also providing technical delivery and support to the delivery team.

Stakeholder management and being process driven are key skills as well as the ability to document decisions, designs and outputs with a keen eye for detail. Interested candidates will need to provide examples of previous documentation.
