Effectively, this is about overseeing a large portfolio of digital products and services all the way through discovery, alpha, beta and live phases. You will lead as the key figure for stakeholders and operational and policy teams; it's a chance to take genuine ownership over a body of work with a truly far-reaching impact.

As head of product management, you will provide support to product and delivery managers.  You will lead on standards, development and performance. You will work closely with other Digital Data and Technology specialists and contractors to develop a product roadmap. You will be part of the government's product community, working closely with Government Digital Service to ensure FCO makes best use of expertise and services.

Equally, we will look for you to shape projects personally: devising and iterating product backlogs and roadmaps, writing business cases and managing budgets. Priorities will include building relationships with technical supplier and integrating customer-facing services with internal software. We will expect you to champion privacy and security standards, and the importance of users' needs, feedback and analytics in products' evolution.

With a history of turning insights into improvements, you will also be used to not only directing multidisciplinary delivery teams, but driving the adoption of new products and services.

In turn, your comprehensive understanding of digital engineering, service design, performance analysis and user research will elevate the team's work, and give you the gravitas to influence colleagues at all levels.
