The Council of Europe www.coe.int and its European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM) http://www.edqm.eu are looking for a Python Developer to join our IT team. Python is the most commonly used programming languages, indeed the biggest tech giants: Amazon, Facebook, Instagram, Netflix, Pinterest, Spotify etc. base their architecture on it. Are you ready to use Python to develop web based applications to support the EDQM in improving public health in Europe and beyond? What we look for in someone to undertake this role effectively: a higher education diploma in IT, Computer Science or Information Systems; at least 3 years of professional experience in software development including solid and extensive experience using Python and its ecosystem; professional and technical expertise:
- experience working in a Linux/Unix development environment; experience with Web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, jQuery and CSS; experience with design principles (patterns, cohesion/coupling);
- ability to develop, test and implement new applications and changes to existing applications; demonstrated understanding of relational databases and SQL concepts; knowledge of object oriented programming concepts and application design and the ability to apply them to projects built on other development platforms; good knowledge of one of the two official languages (English or French) and basic knowledge of the other.
