Perl Application Developer/3 month contract/Newcastle/£400 per day

Spring Technology are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our leading Clients who are seeking a Perl Application Developer

Role: Perl Application Developer

Location: Newcastle

Duration- 3 month contract

Seeking a developer to develop a set of Perl scripts to transform and migrate a large dataset from CSV into an Oracle Database via SQL*Loader

Your responsibilities will entail as followed

Participate in waterfall / agile development projects

Interpret business requirements and technical specification documents

Develop clean, high-quality and reusable code to written technical specifications

Suggest optimal application development amendments to meet or exceed business objectives

Prepare and maintain coding documentation

Perform system and integration testing

Perform root cause analyses and remediation for integration, system reporting and data issues in a timely and accurate manner

Collaborate on projects with minimal supervision

Proactively manage assigned workload to ensure deadlines are achieved

Provide regular status updates to line manager

Performs related duties as assigned

Skills and experience required for this role

* Proficiency in PERL scripting

* Ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines

* Programming experience in SQL

* Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git, Mercurial or SVN

* Knowledge of database architecture and design

* Understanding and implementation of security and data protection

* Security Clearance preferable

* Flexible attitude and an ability to perform under pressure

Role will require SC Clearance if not already held
