Product Director - Insure & Home Services   Location flexible - open to either London or Manchester   Reporting to the Chief Product Officer and having a dotted line into the MD for Insurance & Home Services, this role is responsible for all products under the Insurance & Home Services vertical, e.g., Motor, Home, Travel and Life Insurance; Energy, Broadband, Mobile and many others.   Insurance & Home Services is Moneysupermarket Group's largest business, accounting for well over £200m in annual revenues - over two thirds of the total group.  We work with over 140 insurance partners across car, home, travel and life insurance, a range of third party insurance specialists and 80 communications and energy companies to help over 13 million annual unique visitors find a great deal.   The Product Director plays a key role in the multi-disciplinary Leadership Team of the Insurance & Home Services vertical. In this role you will influence and shape the commercial strategy and lead teams that will deliver industry-leading digital experiences.   Consumers are routinely confused and disengaged when it comes to selecting Insurance or Home Services providers and products. The choice can be overwhelming and the terms lengthy and complex. Yet, procrastination and hesitation can result in consumers feeling anxious and missing opportunities to get better value.   In a world that has been radically transformed by the emergence and establishment of mobile platforms and with machine learning and artificial intelligence on a quick march to further change the face of every industry, it is our aspiration for Moneysupermarket to play a key role in helping consumers have a healthier relationship with their finances by providing brilliant new tools, personalised advice and impartial services, delivering the peace of mind that results from making the right decision.   When done well, our users will love using our products, for reasons large and small, they will find them personal and intimate, in tune with their needs and helping them save money in ways that are intuitive and make complex matters seem simple and approachable.   What will your daily life look like?

Delivering significant Revenue and Gross Profit growth to Moneysupermarket Group through the Product lever of our largest business   Creating and championing a vision for the product   Embedding deep empathy towards customers in everything that we do   Gaining external perspective, understanding of our competitive positioning and threats and the rapidly evolving landscape of consumer technology and platforms   Developing strategic and operational responses to market and landscape shifts and opportunities, providing direction to the Product team and unleashing innovation to find unique and hard-to-copy ways to serve our purpose and commitments   Coaching, mentoring and creating the conditions for success in the product management team

What do you need to excel in this role?­­   Essential

Exceptional leadership skills, evidence of having built high-performing teams through effective coaching and mentoring   Significant and demonstrable product development experience, relevant sector experience preferred with a track record of delivering innovative products   A masterful written and verbal communicator, with exceptional abilities to engage and navigate stakeholders   Strong analytical skills, creative problem solving that corrects and improves the product, likely to have worked closely with data teams to make clear decisions, backed by evidence   Design sensibility, a deep understanding of the evolving design disciplines landscape and how to use design-thinking as a lever to create competitive edge   Commercial understanding and evidence of delivering to, and measuring their own performance against a business case   Experience of working with third parties and partnerships   Degree qualified or equivalent

A good understanding of the role and responsibilities of an insurance intermediary   A good understanding of the FCA's regulatory requirements relating to the sale of insurance products and how they apply to a Product Director's role   A good understanding of the risks posed to customers when buying insurance products and how to mitigate them   A good understanding of how a positive culture (putting the customer at the heart of decisions) and strong business ethics (doing the right thing) can ensure good outcomes for consumers   A good understanding of insurance products: how they work, their T&Cs, risks, and the relevant laws affecting them
