Junior Software Developer / Java Developer (Java8 Data PL/SQL). Would you like to gain valuable knowledge of financial trading systems, be challenged and learn every day?

As a Junior Software Developer at this City based trading firm you'll join a collaborative Agile Java development team, creating and maintaining server side components which support a highly scalable mission critical real-time financial trading platform.

Responsibilities will include design and implementation of Java software, developing unit tests, ongoing maintenance work and documentation of the Java ecosystem; you'll also design databases and implement Java code to interact with backend databases.

You'll be working in an informal atmosphere in the City with a good work life balance, casual dress code, bright, funky offices and a peaceful work environment with excellent career progression.

Requirements:

*Core Java design and development skills, ideally including Java 8

*Thorough understanding of computing fundamentals, object orientated programming, threading, concurrency and distributed systems

*Good working knowledge of Oracle Database design and development, PL/SQL or SQL skills

*Excellent written and verbal communication skills

*Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
