Electronics Engineer urgently required for established worldwide business in Bristol. Sat within the newly formed Safety Application Team, you will help build and enhance the teams' Motor Control experience - basically being the 'go-to-guy' if any issues arise.

Key Experience will include; Motor control of 3 phase Brushless DC (BLDC) motors. Candidates will need this experience to obtain an interview.

The following skills are required. However, the company will not expect you to have outstanding experience within each category, and will help to provide daily support in areas of;

* Control theory - Proportional, Proportional-Integral and Proportional-Integral-Derivative.

* Analog electronics design.

* Digital electronic design.

* Design of Switching Mode Power Supply (SMPS).

* Communication protocols: Canbus, Ethernet, RS232.

* High voltage (higher than 100V DC) in accordance with IPC2221B standard.

* Deep understanding of processors (TI TMS570) including processor architecture.

* Complex engineering development including: requirements, design for manufacture, verification & validation

* Formal documentation e.g. Hardware to Software Interface, Hardware Description Document, Hardware Validation Test Plan, Bill of Materials, Layout Constrains, Acceptance Test Procedures.

* Schematic design and simulation.

* Technical oversight of PCB layout.

* Testing & Integration.

* Integration with embedded software.

* Electrical testing, EMC and environmental testing, CE marking.

* 'Hands on' e.g. soldering & building prototypes.

* Standards: DO-254, IEC 61508, DO-160, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810.

* Engineering processes e.g. CMMI level 3-5 or equivalent.

* Interfacing with external experts.

* Interfacing with off-shore mechanical design teams.

* Interfacing with off-shore and/or 3rd party manufacturing and production.

* Product Lifecycle Management tools (e.g. Oracle Agile).

* Estimation and forecasting.

On rare occasion, you will be asked to travel to client sites within the UK. Experience within FreeRTOS (and/or SafeRTOS), Embedded C, VHDL, Assembler, Deep understanding of FPGAs architecture and Signal and Power Integrity knowledge, will also help you stand out against the crowd.
