Infrastructure Manager - Swansea (SA1)

I am currently representing a large financial services company based near Swansea to help them source an enthusiastic Infrastructure Manager. This will predominantly be a "man management" role however; you will still play a key technical role within projects so a strong technical understanding of IT infrastructure and networking is essential.
The current IT team has grown three fold over the last 5 years and now sits at about 50 people. This will be a dynamic position where you will be managing both multiple projects, and the BAU function, so very strong organisational skills are an absolute must.
Duties:
* Manage a small team of infrastructure and network engineers
* Prioritise, plan and implement change across the infrastructure department
* Streamline processes and optimise systems to improve efficiency
* Produce cost-benefit reports for the management team and board
* Work closely with other operational departments to ensure that their needs are being met
* Proactively seek out and review new and evolving technologies
* Liaise with third party suppliers ensuring quality standards
* Be a strong, positive, and motivational leader for the department, showing passion for your subject and compassion for your people
Along with the above, you will manage multiple Data Centres, Disaster Recovery Suites, and Local Server rooms across multiple sites. You will also take a lead in all infrastructure projects working closely with the architecture, infrastructure and network teams to deliver quality results to pre-agreed time scales.
Experience - You will have:
* Previously held an Infrastructure Manager or Senior Infrastructure Engineer/Lead Infrastructure Engineer role and have a good understanding of the responsibilities and challenges associated with this
* Held a senior, technical position within Infrastructure or Networking and have a broad understanding of infrastructure and networking as a whole
* Managed or lead a team of 4 or more
* A strong understanding of project management
* Recruited and retained new staff
Desirable tech:
Citrix Xenapp, Strong Active Directory, Group Policy 08/12, VMware, Hyper-V, SQL Server, F5 Load balancers, Avaya Telephony, McAfee Security Suuite, Net backup, Actifio, Thin clients, Microsoft Exchange, O365, AWS/Azure a bonus, Cisco, Microsoft Operating Systems, Windows Apps, Bespoke software
Other desirable criteria:
MCP, MCSE, MCITP, Experience working in an ITIL environment/qual, ISO27001 knowledge or qualification, Experience managing 200+ servers (physical and virtual)
