Software Developer - Bradford - (£40,000 - £48,000)

Whether its copy and pasted job descriptions, random jargon, endless candidate wish lists or just plain bad grammar, job ads these days seemingly fail to do one key thing... actually tell the reader what the job entails!!

So with that in mind, I wanted to craft something that hopefully goes against the grain and gives some insight into both the role and the requirements...

I am working in partnership with a leading UK Software company who are looking to recruit a skilled Senior Software Developer as part of a company-wide recruitment drive in their web based product development function.

In terms of the finer details of the role, whilst it is technically 'full stack', the core focus will be on back end server-side development with the main technology stack being .NET. You will spend your time using C#/VB.NET, ASP.NET and SQL Server with some additional work around Web Services. Moreover, it is all product-based development so the focus will be on maintaining/supporting an existing product suite alongside the development of a range of new features.

In terms of what they expect from you, rather than simply regurgitating the formal JD, I have picked out the key requirements and detailed them below:

.NET Development - the main focus of this role will be developing products and features using the .NET stack. The core programming languages are C# (60%), vb.net (40%) and strong database experience in SQL Server (i.e. creating/updating stored procedures, user defined functions, views etc.) is also crucial. Experience with ASP.NET (Web Forms, MVC) is highly beneficial.

Web Development - whilst this is primarily back end development, candidates with experience building web applications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap) will certainly be needed.
