Our Data Technology Solutions team (DTS), based in the Birmingham office, is a centre of excellence that specialises in helping clients design, implement and run sophisticated data analytics and technology applications. They work across a broad range on industry sectors, both in the UK and globally, to deliver innovative solutions that help our clients drive efficiencies, work collaboratively and gain insights into their business, operations and customers.

DTS is a significant growth area for the firm, so we are looking for a Senior Manager to join the team to support our ambitious strategy through sales, proposition development and client delivery. Candidates must have a strong track record evidencing the key responsibilities and job requirements below, as well as demonstrate entrepreneurship to drive innovative and leverage different markets.

Key responsibilities

Execute the overall strategic direction for the Data Technology Solutions (DTS) practice selling engagements to target clients and lead quality delivery for those engagements.

Take ownership for achieving financial goals of the team including sales, revenues and profitability targets.

Develop and lead high impact DTS project proposals and sales pitches. This includes developing detailed project scope, deliverables, work plans and budgets.

On boarding clients through the firm’s risk management procedures, including developing and agreeing contracts with clients and our legal teams.

Collaborating with other PwC lines of service to identify business opportunities and create technology enabled propositions which can be taken and sold to market as a standalone product and/or managed service.

Supporting the development and coaching of staff.

Supporting the running of the team and operational procedures, including resourcing, budgeting, management of client opportunities and recruitment.

Project manage and deliver client projects; must possess strong people, interpersonal and project management skills and ability to quantify benefits to clients.

Knowledge and extensive experience of working in the technology and/or software development sector. We operate primarily on the Microsoft stack, using Azure hosting and develop applications using ASP.NET MVC, web forms, SQL, but also welcome knowledge of other tools and technology stacks (e.g. Alteryx, UIPath, Tableau, Hadoop, etc.).

Support the development of emerging technology propositions in AI, RPA and Blockchain.

Develop your skills through on the job training and coaching and helping others in the team to be successful.

Job requirements

Strong track record of creating data analytics/technology enabled propositions and selling in the market.

Experience of writing proposals for large technology engagements and working with multi-disciplinary teams.

Experience of working with internal risk management and legal teams to on-board new client engagements and strong negotiation skills to agee contracts.

Experience of working directly with clients and developing strong relationships.

Strong project management and senior stakeholder management skills.

Outstanding interpersonal and active listening skills. Able to articulate complex messages to non-technical people.

At least 5 years experience in a leading IT consulting or software development firm, in a project management role, delivering web, data and technology solutions for clients.

High level knowledge and appreciation of cloud, cyber security principles and data regulations (e.g. GDPR).

Quality and diligence; high focus, attention to detail and accountability to see projects through.

Experience of leading project teams on engagements, managing budgets and risks, and consistently delivering to timescales.

Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.

People and team oriented; strong focus on developing others and building effective teams.

Creative problem solver; flexible, positive and analytical.

Ability to be flexible and work across different geographical locations.

Highly desirable

Degree / professional qualifications in software development/mathematics.

Applicants with project managing delivery of a variety of web, data analytics and technology projects across multiple industries and sectors.
