RTRS are currently supporting a world-leading supplier of commercial vehicle braking systems at their UK Research and Development centre based in Nuneaton.

Due to expansion, we're looking for an Electronics Hardware Engineer to join their innovative research and development team to work collaboratively producing world-class commercial vehicle braking systems.

Your immediate role will be the specification, design and evaluation of electronic hardware to be utilised in automotive braking applications.

You will be responsible for the creation of product performance specifications; proposal and evaluation of electronics hardware designs, including selection of electronic parts; provision of the information required to enable a physical layout intended for final production to be procured; supervision and checking of Printed Circuit Board designs to ensure best design practices have been followed to minimise EMC performance related issues; provision of Circuit Schematics; Bill of Materials for electronic components used in the design and physical layout details in a form suitable for the generation of production release information and procurement and evaluation of design prototypes in readiness for production release.

Additionally, preparation of information to enable electronic product production test processes to be defined; perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis on electronic hardware designs; provide technical support to production and design validation partners during development and initial release of product and the generation of a technical product document to allow for the end user installation and service manuals to be compiled.

We are looking for people who have been an electronics hardware engineer for a minimum of half a decade, so will need solid skills in:

-Specifying, designing and validating electronics hardware for measurement and control systems.
-Design and development of electronic circuit concepts and proposals seeing this through to final manufacture and test.
-Has successfully applied electronics to automotive or low cost high volume high reliability applications.
-Familiarity with EMC design techniques and solutions.
-Electronics Engineering degree.
-Liaising with partners on PCB design, Validation testing and production implementation.

Salary/Benefits
£40,000 - £46,000
