E-Serve is the delivery arm of Ofgem, the regulator of Britain's gas and electricity markets, and is helping to shape the future of the energy market - delivering better energy efficiency through renewable energy sources, and protecting the interests of energy consumers. If you choose to be part of our team you can expect plenty of opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience, with the professional support you need to reach your full potential.
This is the perfect platform for future career development. As we enter the discovery phase of a new IT system, you will be involved right from the outset. You will help to gather system requirements, assist with User Acceptance Testing, and support data migration activities from the existing legacy system to the new development. Liaising between project teams and software developers, you must be able to understand and communicate how business needs translate into technical requirements: through effective testing and analysis, user stories, prototypes, showcases and other activities.
A background in a similar role is desirable. You should have experience of planning, executing and tracking testing activities, preferably gained in an agile environment where you have worked closely with technical teams. You must be able to plan, prioritise and schedule complex tasks effectively, with the interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders and communicate complex issues clearly. Above all, you will be an adaptable, flexible and motivated problem-solver, ready to take ownership of testing activities and really help shape the early stages of a new IT implementation.
Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which includes:
• Up to 30 days' annual leave
• Excellent training and development opportunities
• The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits
• Flexible working hours and family friendly policies
• Restaurant and subsidised gym (London location only)
• Interest free season ticket loan.
