Application Support / SQL / .NET / ASP .NET / ITIL

Spring Technology have partnered with a brand new client to resource a skilled Application Support Engineer to be based in their Northamptonshire head office.

I am looking for someone who is experienced in SQL and code, to join an existing team of analysts working on a Technical Service Desk delivering a support service to new and existing clients. The individual will need to be very self-motivated, have strong SQL and coding experience and can learn quickly. The individual will need the self-desire to consistently deliver an outstanding level of service.

Key Responsibilities:

*Work as part of a team providing support of a technical nature in response to requests, incidents and problems

*Provide an escalation point for queries and incidents

*Provide support for the application including its users and associated services and configuration

*Provide technical expertise to the clients, ensuring a professional level support within SLAs

*Provide support to Customer Support analysts enabling internal quick and effective resolutions and/or support to problems whether that is through support, guidance, escalation or training

*Support the smooth and timely delivery of all areas of service and support as defined by the support agreements and in accordance with procedural guidelines.

*Proactively assist in providing solutions and maintaining a high level of service.

*Handling and resolving a high proportion of escalated service desk calls and performing a variety of related tasks, including but not limited to: o Reviewing code for bugs and expected functionality, Software Updates, SSL certs, Server config

o Writing advanced SQL scripts, Querying/Amending DB

*Installation of internal software, importing data from previous MIS, server configuration

*Provision of the Disaster Recovery service, maintenance and setups

*Managing and monitoring all tickets ensuring all are kept up to date within SLA

*Responding to escalated tickets by the end of each working day with an update

Key skills:

*Solid proven working experience of SQL (Querying, writing scripts etc.) - Essential

*Experience of programming/debugging (.net, asp.net)

*Previous experience in the education sector, ideally MIS based

*Preferred Proven diagnosis and investigation experience within a software/IT support function

*Experience of application support

*Customer service experience - dealing with clients

*Proven experience of managing incidents through to resolution or escalation

*Appreciation of ITIL principles - Desirable
