Job description/Person specification

As the demand for QinetiQ's products and services continues to increase, we are looking to appoint an experienced Software Engineer to join our current team of talented engineers. As a senior developer, you will play an important role in the team, taking responsibility for technical assignments, leading the delivery of cutting edge projects, shaping how delivery is executed and applying your development experience across a range of activities from research to product development, avionics to cloud computing. Having experience of the full software development lifecycle from requirement capture through to go live, you will be comfortable directing more junior staff and be able to communicate effectively with our customers. QinetiQ prides itself on the delivery of world class capability, developing next generation software solutions. Essential Skills Required:

Experience of the full lifecycle software development from concept through to delivery

Project experience of one or more of C++, C# or Java

Experience with agile development methodologies

Desirable Skills:

Mentoring junior staff to develop organisational capability

Experience managing a team - technical or line management

Experience with GUI design and development (web or apps)

Experience with MATLAB
