Senior Project Manager - Southampton - Up to £47,000

My client who is responsible for an estate of 2,920 servers, 1,070 network switches, 2,300 wireless access points and 47,700 wired access points; for 13,000 desktops with some 2,000 different applications and corporate systems, is currently looking to expand their team due to growth.

The Project Manager will successfully manage and deliver multiple concurrent large or technically complex ICT projects and programmes that deliver innovative solutions against business requirements aligned to strategy. To work with senior staff and stakeholders to create governance and drive decision making in support of project planning and delivery that supports, reviews and defines strategic direction.

Key responsibilities:

*To manage project resources, finances, procurement and benefits to deliver successfully within agreed timescales.

*To manage project priorities, tolerances and escalations in line with the organisational frameworks.

*To be responsible for projects as agreed with the line manager.

*To produce management information, reports, briefings and presentations as required to keep stakeholders informed and updated.

*To use and communicate the organisation's project delivery and technical architecture frameworks with internal and external customers.

*Any other duties that fall within the scope of the post, as allocated by the line manager, following consultation with the post holder.

Key Skills

*Appropriate Project Management qualification or equivalent applied experience e.g. Prince2 or PMQ

*Knowledge or experience of project methodologies e.g. Six Sigma/Agile.

*Proven experience of planning and progressing work activities within broad professional guidelines and/or broad organisational policy.

*Demonstrable experience of tracking and forecasting project finances.

*Able to successfully delivery medium to large scale projects, preferably IT-related.

*Ability to produce plans and manage resources to deliver successful projects to time, cost and quality requirements.

*Ability to effectively control multiple teams on multiple activity streams.

*Ability to apply project management and technical experience and awareness to drive project delivery.

*Able to innovate and think creatively and able to use these skills to drive through the Business benefits of IT change.

*Professional, calm and clear-thinking under pressure.

*Able to define and agree packages of work with project teams and team managers to deliver against project plans.

*Able to understand the strengths and weaknesses of team members to build effective teamwork.

*Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate knowledge to colleagues, including documenting work.

*Communicate change delivered by projects to large groups of stakeholders with support from Communications staff.

*Liaise with team members in both technical and business areas affected by your projects.

*Use of Microsoft Office applications: Visio, Excel, Word and MS Project.

*Flexible and open to change yet with the ability to prioritise and focus on delivery.

*Confidence, experience and skills to talk initiative, but know when to refer queries upwards.
