You will be working for an exciting technology company based in London that are helping the world's biggest eCommerce players make delivery easy by integrating them with over 450 carries around the world. You will be working with brands such as ASOS, John Lewis, eBay, Adidas and more. You will be working with a company that helped deliver around 600 million packages and you will help get to the ambitious number of 2.5bn packages. It is actually more than likely that you have interacted with us at some point when ordering something online!

What you will be doing:

You will be leading a team of Data Engineers by championing innovation and driving high quality, on time delivery and continuous improvement. This will be a very hands on role with around 75% hands on and about 25% management involved. You will help design and build highly scalable, secure and available data environments that enable the SaaS platforms to operate every day of the week. Experience with continuous integration & continuous delivery and the best practise regarding tools, methodologies and data pipelines/automated workflows. You will be responsible for line management of your team members, which will be a team size of around 4-7 people. Within this team you will be required to mentor and coach team members and assist with the recruiting of the right people as the team expands.

Who You Are:

* Experience in leading a team of Data Engineer / Developers in a hands on technical role in an Agile environment.

* Have a strong Software Engineering or Data Engineering background and are able to write code in Python, Java or other platform related Big data technology.

* Have a love of using data to deliver business insight and value

* Experience in a continuous integration / delivery environment with a passion for automation.

* Exposure/Experience in Bigdata Technologies (hadoop, spark, presto, etc.).

* Experience with SQL Server tools such as SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Data Tools and Visual Studio.

* Experience leading large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including using AWS technologies - Redshift, S3, EC2, Data-pipeline and other big data technologies

* Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting tools. (OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, MicroStrategy, SSAS Cubes, Datanet, etc.)

* Experience with a DW technology (Oracle, Teradata, Netezza, Redshift, etc) and relevant data modelling

* Proven ability to work independently; deploying and troubleshooting systems

* Excellent ability to systematically troubleshoot and solve complex system problems

* Experience with automation and deployment (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation) is a bonus
