Java Developer

Looking for a job is a frustrating process that often consists of reading adverts written by the same group of recruiters that are neither engaging nor informative and normally focuses far too much on what you need to bring to the client.

I am going to try and offer you a blend of why my client would be a good option and what they can do for your career and what you can bring to my client.

Let's start with the client and why they would be a good choice of employer for you. My client are a globally leading IT consultancy firm who specialise in public sector projects. However, with such as global footprint you can be assured that they have projects in a number of fields including FinTech and the automotive industry. You will gain exposure to the biggest projects on the market and they work with the latest technologies available. One of the big reasons for choosing my client would have to be the emphasis that is placed on you and your progression. Internal progression is something my client pride themselves on. With this in mind there are opportunities for training with, typically, £10K-£15K worth of a training budget allocated to each individual. This can be spent on certifications or can be used to branch out into management courses or more soft skill courses.

Now, what can you bring to my client? For this Java role there are some key criteria that need to be met from applicants. These are:

* Experience with Java 8.

* Experience with Spring Framework.

* Experience with Microservices.

While these are important the first 2 are the most important and depending on the level of role you wish to apply for your experience will need to be more sufficient.

Onto the logistics of the role. This role will typically comprise of 4 days on client site and one day of working from home. This is a UK wide role and you should be open to travel across the UK. This will not mean hopping from site to site. Instead you will be on a project until completion. While you are not on a project you will be upskilling, which is where the training budget comes in. In terms of travel you can be fully expensed, depending on your mode of transport and you will also receive accommodation where required. On top of this you will receive £30 a day of food and drink allowance on an Amex card.

Salary wise you can expect a salary of £40000-£85000 (DOE). There are roles ranging from mid-level through to lead and the more senior you become the more mentoring you will be expected to undertake. In terms of benefits package you will receive 25 days holiday per year and will also have a buy back scheme for holidays. You will also have private medical care and life insurance (2X salary) and more.

To arrange an informal call feel free to email c.conway@frgconsulting or phone me on 01914060301 and we can have a chat about the opportunity.
