Role: Portfolio Lead Solution Architect
Location: Wokingham
Contract: 6 Months +
Day Rate: £550 - £650
The Role:
Our leading client requires a Portfolio Lead Solution Architect to be accountable for the ongoing design and implementation of IT architecture. The position requires a holistic view across Business domains and IS functions focussing on driving efficiencies and value across the end-to-end IT service lifecycle.
Essentials:
*Utilities experience highly beneficial.
*International delivery experience within a blue chip consulting or systems integration firm working across the full project/service lifecycle with teams across distributed geographical boundaries, particularly including third party resources.
*Track record for leading solution architecture designs that have led to long term value for the organisation based on a strong understanding of business drivers and IT cost base.
*Thought leadership and adapting methods and practices to fit team and cultural needs. Experience of taking a 'big picture' strategic view as well as being able to work at a detailed level across a broad range of technologies and approaches.
*Experience of architecture tools such as Troux, System Architect, Rational Rose, Casewise, Aris, Sparc or equivalent.
*Design, influence and adherence to architecture governance frameworks across the portfolio business demain and wider organisation frameworks.
*Understanding of the cost and value drives of IS and developing business cases
*Applying consultancy approaches and techniques
*One or more of the following TOGAF architectural domains: Business, Application, Data, Technology
*Development and deployment of best practice use cases; knowledge repository creation and management; champion of reuse
*General technical experience is required e.g. Unix, Oracle, Web developments, E-Commerce etc.
*Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), cloud computing services and systems integration
*Software development lifecycle, familiar with different approaches to development (Agile, Waterfall, RAD etc.)
*Knowledge of Integration Architectures, Data Architecture, Overall Solution Architecture and Process/Business Architecture
*Developing and maintaining the portfolio IT architecture and design ensuring it conforms to the strategic vision, goals and roadmaps operating across organisational and technology domains to drive common approaches, delivering sustainable, agile and reusable solutions minimising RTB costs
*Relationships with business leaders and internal peers and develop a portfolio of business solutions by focusing on high impact opportunities
