Senior Electronics Design Engineer - Power Engineering

Enigma People Solutions is recruiting a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to a niche award winning power electronics company that is experiencing an exciting period of growth.

This role represents your chance to take a leading role in the technical direction and success of this niche business.

You will become an integral part of an innovative design team with a reputation for solving demanding power supply design problems. Whether it be high power density, a harsh environment (space, offshore) or class-leading efficiency, this team rises to the challenge.

This role is an important addition to the overall team. Daily interaction with the company's Technical Authority means you will be in a position to influence the future direction of the company's technology.

You will be expected to design the electronic hardware for all (or part) of varied power conversion devices. Other members of the team will deal with mechanical and software tasks. Our client is currently involved in a number of power conversion projects, these include: high efficiency single and three phase AC to DC converters; wave-energy power take-off devices; wireless power transfer converters; and fully digital microprocessor controlled converters. Power range covers 500W to 25kW and often involve industrial or academic collaboration.

This exciting role will offer you great variety in your work, you will be expected to be the project technical lead, responsible for meeting requirements in the product definition, from initial customer specification to prototype and/or low scale production.

For most projects a project manager will be responsible for the overall execution of the plan, however smaller projects may require a degree of project management. The company is entering a further period of growth and it is anticipated that this role will grow as the company does.

Skills / Experience:

- To be considered for this role you should have proven experience in a related power electronics arena.

You should have demonstrable success in designing one or more of the following:

- SMPS; digitally controlled power supplies; motor controllers; wireless power or inductive power supplies; mixed signal electronics.

Previous use of ORCAD/pSpice and MatLab/Simulink would also be useful. Over and above the technical experience it is important that you are comfortable working as part of a "hands on", "can do" design team in a small, fast moving unit, working on multiple projects.

You will be innovative, flexible and pragmatic with good time management skills and the ability to deliver to tight timeframes and within budget. The variety of projects mean that you will need to be capable of working both independently or as of part of a larger team.
