SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

Locations - Portsmouth, Walsall, Leicester, Exeter or Heathrow considered.

Pay rate will be between £450-550 per day. (ltd)

Qualifications

* Ideally Degree educated in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or Law.

* MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification desirable

As Supply Chain Manager you will:

* Support the Head of Procurement to design, develop and implement strategies that meet the needs of each business;

* Work with key stakeholders in each business to identify, assess and quantify tangible opportunities to realise value through the supply chain, owning each opportunity from validation to realisation; and

* Support the businesses to transition to, and benefit from, resulting contracts and supply chains;

Key Objectives / Accountability:

Develop procurement strategies that maximise value for the business, based on an understanding of each specific business's needs, the present supply basis, stakeholder knowledge and the supply market potential;

* Qualify and quantify opportunities identified to determine anticipated benefit and gain sign off with key stakeholders;

* Lead supplier relationship management plans with key suppliers, collating supplier performance issues and managing any improvement plans;

* Support each business's growth agenda, supporting operational activities, including bidding activities and mobilisation of new customer contracts;

* Prepare and agree with the Head of Procurement (and relevant stakeholders) ongoing activity plan, value targets and participate in regular performance reviews, with reference to progress against objectives;

* Provide a monthly status report to the Head of Procurement detailing project and programme progress, delivery against the Procurement Plan and Value Plan;

Specific Functional Skills and Experience:

Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;

* Wide experience of managing strategic sourcing projects from conception through to completion communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;

* Capacity to drive change whilst continuing to deliver business, team and personal objectives;

* Proven track record of identifying and delivering year-on-year procurement savings against targets, across a portfolio of procurement initiatives;

* Experience of managing supplier performance and relationships (with multi-million pound spend profiles);

Travel to other office-based sites will be required.
