Faculty / Directorate

The Marketing and Communications Directorate offers full-service marketing and communications support to the university, comprising reputation management; brand development and oversight; recruitment campaigns; CRM and conversion campaigns; schools and colleges engagement; enquiry management and follow up; internal communications; media relations; design and publications development; Faculty marketing and recruitment; web and digital development; and market insight.

Role

Reporting to the Web and Digital Manager, the role delivers first-class user interface and user experience design, development code, testing and modifications of DMU's digital products and services. The role supports the creation and maintenance of visually appealing, technically robust, and highly competitive web designs, user navigation and functionality which meet accessibility and usability benchmarks. It will assist in the delivery, from conception to release, of new functions and user experiences, and deliver continual improvements across dmu.ac.uk and wider digital platforms, which are sector-leading, intuitive, and effective. This is an exciting new role, designing, developing and delivering high impact, creative, and effective functionality and experiences. The role will liaise with external suppliers, as well an in-house team, to assist in the delivery of DMU's digital strategy.

Ideal Candidate

Educated to degree level, or with equivalent qualifications or experience, this role would suit an individual with specific interest and demonstrable skills in the design and development of large-scale digital products and services. The role requires an organised, focussed and creative approach to design and development, alongside an appreciation of the way enterprise-level digital products and services need to perform and be managed.
