Java Developer

So, it is January. Most of us have already broken our new year resolution. Mine was to wake up earlier and go to the gym. Perhaps yours was to find that new challenge and make the next step in your career? In that case, you will have gone through numerous job adverts only to find they were fairly uninformative. What I am going to try and offer you, here, is a short, informative burst of information regarding the Java role I am working for a large client of mine.

Shall we start with the company? This company is a large consultancy company with a global footprint and are actively involved in a number of sectors. These range from the public sector, through to the automotive industry and even the food industry. Thus, they can offer a wide array of important projects. The specialism, however, is the public sector and they are currently undertaking a nationwide digital transformation project, in which they are upgrading the current public sector webservices in response to increasing national security threats.

Next I will focus on what you can bring to my client. There is a heavy recruitment drive across all levels of Java Developers for my client. What my client is looking for are skilled developers with a desire to improve and grow with the business. The main criteria we are looking for is:

* Minimum 18 months experience with Java 8.

* Demonstrable experience with Spring Framework.

* A desire to learn and keep up with the latest technologies.

* Experience with Microservices.

It seems a reasonable place to now focus on what my client is offering you in return for your skills. There are salaries ranging from £40000 - £85000 (DOE) and a generous benefits package. Part of this package will include between £10000 - £15000 worth of training opportunities, in the form of sought after certifications, which gives this role a good personal growth edge.

Logistically, this role is a UK wide role and travel must be expected. You will not be expected to hop around sites. You will be placed at a site that is suitable for your skills. Should accommodation be required there is a scheme in place to ensure you are well looked after. You will be placed into a hotel, paid for by my client, and there are generous travel costs alleviated from you too. If driving your mileage will be covered from upwards of 30 miles. Train costs can be covered in full. You can also expect an AMEX Card on which you are entitled to £30 food and drink allowance daily.
