HSIB are seeking to recruit individuals with Project or Programme Management experience to join a dynamic team leading new approaches to healthcare investigation and identifying learning that can be applied across the whole healthcare environment.
In April 2018 HSIB started conducting independent safety investigations within the speciality of maternity that meet the criteria of the ‘Each Baby Counts’ national quality improvement programme. 1000 of these investigations are to be completed by the Maternity Team at HSIB within the next year nationally.
The investigations concentrate on establishing the facts and identifying areas of learning from all involved in the care given to the patient and their families. This approach is designed to provide independent investigation for the Trust and their families without apportioning blame or liability.
As a Project Manager we are looking for individuals who want to be part of this exciting and innovative approach in safety investigations. You will be working alongside a regional team who will be carrying out expert investigations under the guidance of a Team leader, the post holder will proactively project manage and co-ordinate the progress of the investigations facilitating the timely delivery of the reports regionally.
As part of your role we are looking for you to:
Provide oversight of the operational aspects of investigations in your region, from case allocation through to delivery of final reports, ensuring timely delivery of milestones within agreed deadlines.
Contribute to the strategic planning of investigations, monitoring the use of resources, identifying interdependencies across projects, potential impacts on the wider organisation, and working with team leaders to build in contingency and adjustments as necessary.
Provide quality assurance for all investigations, ensuring robust process and methodology are adhered to.
With a good grasp of relevant project management techniques the successful candidate will be an excellent team player with advanced organisational and analytical skills. A healthcare background is advantageous, but not essential.
The posts are initially offered as a fixed term contract or secondments for 1 year with a view to extend, some travel will be required.
