Cloud Developer - Gloucester - £40,000 - £65,000 plus benefits

Position Description

A leading technology business, one of the top five IT firms in the UK, is expanding its Cloud development team and as such is looking to hire a number of talented engineers to work across a variety of cutting-edge projects. This team builds and supports strategic, state of the art platforms for Government clients, helping to secure critical systems and networks.

The Gloucester-based application development teams requires engineers at all levels, with cloud-computing skills to work on leading solutions. Proud of what they do, the teams focus on shared ownership of goals and aims for everyone to be involved in development activities including testing and operations.

This is a client facing role at times, so you must be comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders, building solutions to their requirements.

Skills
You will have a blend of skills covering cloud specific technologies as well as general software engineering and system engineering. Your skills will include several of the following:Public Cloud Services, Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Open Source Software such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and OpenStack.Application programming in languages such as Java, C/C++, Python and SQL Database administrationLinux and Windows system administration NetworkingHadoop and distributed computationYou will be confident working with a clean slate as well as adding to your colleagues' output.This is an exciting time to join the company and be part of building one of the largest independent technology firms in the world.
