I am recruiting a Civil and Structural Engineer to work on various nuclear decommissioning and new build projects on behalf of a global market leading engineering company that undertakes critical engineering work worldwide. You would support the UK's largest nuclear delivery organisation and lead some of the country's most significant nuclear projects.

This is a very exciting time to join the nuclear industry. There is a strong drive from government to show progress on nuclear projects. The projects undertaken by our multi discipline engineering team are of national importance and therefore innovation and efficient design play a key role in our approach to design and construction.

Our dedicated engineering team pride ourselves upon innovative design solutions and approaches that have received recognition from clients and regulatory authorities. We are investigating and developing the use of all available technologies and play a part in the development of technology and their applications for use in the nuclear industry.

We are looking for highly motivated people who will be given a great opportunity to develop their professional skills and contribute to our successful work within the nuclear sector. In turn, we will share our proven skills with successful candidates.

The successful candidate should have the necessary communication, collaboration and team building skills to ensure that productivity, safety and a multi discipline design approach remains the focus of any team they play a part in.

Main purpose of role:

* Preparing the designs for structures of varying complexity, including relevant sketches, calculations, reports and other required engineering documentation.

* Complete the design and analysis and provide solutions to problems that may arise in manufacture, construction, installation, commissioning and de-commissioning.

* Carry out reviews or specific checks of other Engineers' work to provide Design Verification.

* Accurately report on a periodic basis, specified by the Technical Lead on a project, the estimate to complete their assigned task.

* Consider, act upon and record health, safety and environment issues at all stages of the design process.

* Responsible for ensuring, as far as possible, the correctness of their own designs and for checking other relevant output.

Ideal requirements:

* Degree Qualified (BEng or MEng), Civil / Structural Engineer or Engineering degree of similar relevance to the Civil / Structural engineering industry.

* Experience in design of structures in reinforced concrete, masonry and steelwork.

* Ideally experience in the nuclear industry.

* Preferably knowledge of infrastructure design.

* Understand the use of Parametric Modelling to prepare drawings for all phases of a project to BIM Level 1.

If you believe that you have the right skills and are motivated to progress your career with a global market leading engineering company, please contact Gemma Rogan on 0117 9309 739 or email
