Junior/Graduate Android Developer

This established and exciting mobile technology company in Oxford is looking to scale up significantly over the next 18 months. One of the areas of expansion is within their Android development team and they are looking to hire a further Junior/Graduate Android Developer.

The role will involve working as part of a team developing complex apps through the full project lifecycle, from design to release, as well as maintaining existing apps, adding new features, etc.

They are moving their Android development from Java to Kotlin, so you will have the opportunity to learn and utilise Kotlin in a commercial environment.

Key skills/experience required:

-Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

-Knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio and Gradle

-Proficient knowledge of Java with a desire to learn Kotlin (any previous Kotlin experience will be a distinct advantage)

-Good knowledge of Android platform and related technologies

-Experience with automated testing on Android

-Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle

-Be passionate about learning and be able to craft beautiful, clean code

Desirable:

-Experience using Android Architecture components

-Worked in an Agile/Scrum environment

-Experience using Git for source control

-Familiarity with GPS Location and the use of additional sensors

Ideally, you will have some level of commercial Android development experience, however a graduate with an Android focused thesis/project/placement year will also be happily considered.
