Microsoft Azure Consultant/ Azure Analyst

Avanade is looking to hire an IT professional with Windows Server and preferably Microsoft Azure experience for our Infrastructure Consulting team. The role is permanent and based in Newcastle, Cobalt Business Park.

You will also require to be on call, (2 weeks on call, 4 weeks off).

About the role - Azure Analyst/ Azure Consultant/ Infrastructure Analyst

Working on some of the largest and leading-edge projects, the purpose of the Azure professional is to play an active role in our customers cloud transformation and deployment projects. This will involve delivering throughout the complete project lifecycle including design, build, deployment, transition to service, support and operational improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities will be:

Providing 2nd & 3rd level infrastructure support including incident, change, problem investigation and reporting activities

Mobilisation & commissioning of new infrastructure including design review & implementation

Development & maintenance of documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Analysis, design, testing & implementation of monitoring, alerting, & automation capabilities to support a continuous improvement approach aligned to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)

You will Need:

At least 2 years’ experience of building, configuring and supporting the latest versions Windows Server (Mandatory)

Solid networking knowledge, enough to design infrastructure solutions in the cloud

(Mandatory)

Experience of building, configuring, and supporting infrastructure and resources in Microsoft Azure

(Highly desirable)

Systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving with good attention to detail

Ability to manage small projects

Ability to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently, and demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks

A high degree of flexibility including shift and out of hours working

Ability to work well autonomously and within a team

Good interpersonal and team working skills

Sound communication skills both written and verbal.

Good customer facing/customer service skills

Other Desirable Technical Experience

Windows Server & Azure certifications

Azure ARM Templates and/or Terraform

SQL Server

Active Directory & IAM

Programming Languages including Power Shell and/or Python

Microsoft Developer Tools

Microsoft Hyper-V

Linux

ServiceNow and/or other ITSM Tools
