Security Engineer / Researcher (Data Analysis Python ElasticSearch SIEM). Opportunity to join a well funded technology start-up that is utilising AI and Machine Learning techniques to build a cutting edge API intrusion and security threat detection system that can predict attacks rather than just reacting to them.
As a Security Engineer / Researcher you will focus on prototyping and designing innovative solutions for Cyber Security problems and supporting the R&D team.
You'll conduct advanced data analysis of application, API traffic and patterns of activity; apply Machine Learning techniques to identify and classify attacks; develop research software (tools, prototypes, security infrastructure) and integrate the AI technology with SIEMs and other security systems. You will take ownership, being responsible for research from idea through prototype and deployment; keep up to date with the latest attack technologies, trends and publicised breaches as well as presenting security research in forums and conferences.
You'll join a small, highly talented team of academics and technologists within a collegiate team environment; shared start-up offices based in the City with a range of facilities and the latest kit.
Requirements:
*Degree educated, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, Information Security (likely to have studied at MSc level)
*Good knowledge of some or all of the following technologies: ModSecurity, Apache2, NGinx, Docker, AWS API Gateway, Machine Learning, ElasticSearch, SIEMs, Intrusion Detection
*Strong working knowledge of WAFs and SIEMs
*Ideally you will have a strong interest / experience in AI
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
