The Graduate Applications Engineer Opportunity:

We are looking to recruit a keen and enthusiastic Graduate Applications Engineer who can work effectively as part of an experienced engineering team to learn, design, document, manage, integrate, commission and support machine vision applications across a range of industries.

The candidate will have the opportunity to develop automation, mechanical and electrical skills along with all aspects of general industrial automation control and design. Our services are project driven and so there is good scope to learn about overall project management in the context of an industrial environment, communicating with our blue-chip customers.

Core Roles:

+ Learn and become experienced with our machine vision graphical user interface (GUI) software packages

+ Learn and become experienced with our machine vision technology, such as PC’s, cameras, optics, lighting, filters and image processing methods

+ Design machine vision applications with our machine vision software and hardware

+ Document specifications and test studies for the design of machine vision applications

+ Document mechanical, electrical and communication specifications for smaller machine vision systems

+ Document technical files for our larger machine vision systems

+ Manage projects, working with team members, communicating with suppliers and customers

+ Manage projects to focus on delivering them on-time and within budget

+ Integrate and commission machine vision applications into our machines and systems

+ Assist the team with the direct production of our machines and systems

+ Support off-site and on-site our machine vision machines and systems, post installation

+ Create machine vision solutions using our in-house equipment for use in customer demonstrations, evaluations and proposals

About You:

+ Educated to degree level in Engineering or related fields (2.1 or above)

+ A logical approach to problem solving.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills - both written and verbal.

+ Well organised, ability to work to deadlines and a high attention to detail.

+ Ability to prioritise a heavy workload.

+ Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.

+ Clean and full UK driving licence.

Bonus Skills:

+ A Master’s degree in an engineering discipline

+ Knowledge of software programming languages.

+ Knowledge of machine vision/image processing.

+ Knowledge of robotics/control systems/industrial automation

Flexible Working:

There is some requirement for flexible working hours and weekend work (overtime paid for weekend work) as required.

Travel:

Our systems are integrated, commissioned and supported across the globe. There is good opportunity to travel within the UK, Europe and beyond as part of our engineering team. Recent work has been completed in the USA, Central America, Thailand, Hungary and France.
