Senior Quantity Surveyor - Major Infrastructure Project
Plymouth - Devonport Royal Dockyard
My client are the owner, operator and licensee of Devonport Royal Dockyard and is one of the principle support partners of the MOD and Royal Navy, responsible for undertaking deep maintenance (refits) on the Royal Navy fleet.
They are embarking on a programme of major infrastructure upgrades to provide modern facilities to support the future warship and submarine programmes at Devonport.
The Company is seeking to build a sustainable, effective multi-disciplinary capability to lead the development and delivery of this programme, working closely with a range of key suppliers and partners.
Initial projects relate to upgrades of a dock and non-tidal berth to support the Astute Class submarines and future programmes. We are looking for a number of commercial professionals to join this strategic team who are about to embark on one of the largest major infrastructures projects within the UK.
We are currently recruiting for the below vacancies;
* Head Contract Commercial Manager
* Commercial Manager
* Senior Quantity Surveyor
* Cost Engineer / Estimator
* Commercial Officers
Responsibilities:
* Collate pre tender infrastructure estimates including cost planning and modelling of design options supporting tender compilation.
* Prepare and validate cost input to Monthly Reports to client and Project Management for sub-contracts and/or facilities and in accordance with project procedures.
* Prepare pre contractual negotiation plans, support the commercial lead in contract negotiation to minimise variance from the clients position.

Maintain control baselines for all costs and profitability and carry out periodic updates.
* Identify deviations from agreed baselines and recommend corrective actions where appropriate.
* Develop / provide / assist in compiling cost control procedures to support the Infrastructure programme.
Requirements:
* Broad knowledge within building and construction.
* NEC3 experience.
* Relevant degree or qualification.
* Quantity surveying experience.
