I am currently working with a huge Google Cloud partner based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The company provide scalable and industry specific Cloud solutions mostly focus in the GCP space. With a wide range of industry involvement they have established themselves as a cutting edge CSP with a unique and efficient approach to Cloud solutions.

They have international projects on an enterprise scale and work with the latest, cutting edge technologies in development, operations, Cloud and infrastructure. Whatever the need and whatever the size, they have the skill, expertise and ability to create a solution, and they need you.

The role:

We are currently looking for DevOps engineers of all levels from Junior up to Senior. The ideal candidate is someone who comes from a development background with a keen interest and focus on the Opensource stack using Java based technologies.

However the role isn't just your standard developer position. You will assist in the transition of hard code moving into the operations stage of projects, working with developers, testers, systems administrators and cloud specialists. Due to the diversity of this role you will gain a huge amount of exposure to technologies across the full project life cycle.

The specific requirements are flexible, but the key factors are:

* Completed IT, Computer Science Degree or equivalent engineering degree.

* Junior: 2-3 years, Mid-level: 3-5 years, Senior: 5-8 years development and scripting experience

* OS: Linux (*nix) administration and automation

* Languages: Java, HTML-5, Python, JavaScript, *nix shell scripting

* Build tools: Maven, Grunt, Gulp, Gradle

* Testing tools: Unit testing tools, JMeter, Artillery, Selenium, WebdriverIO

* Configuration and Deployment tools: Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Docker Compose, CloudFormation

* Continuous integration tools: Jenkins, Gitlab, GoCD

* Source control tools / techniques: Subversion, Git, Semantic versioning

* Artefact management tools: Nexus, Artifactory, Sinopia

* Monitoring: Monitoring and trending metrics utilizing ELK and TICK stacks

* Security: OWASP Top 10, Zap

* Servers: Nodejs, Nginx

* Containers: Docker, Kubernetes

* Public cloud: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform
