Senior Data Scientist/£450-£550/Portsmouth/Contract

Jefferson Frank are working with a trusted client, who are building an advanced cloud analytics platform and utilise a variety of data sources ranging from IOT sensor data, geospatial, weather, lidar, fault & maintenance, to telematics and use advanced supporting technologies including GIS systems and PAAS machine learning services.

The data science team sits within the wider data & analytics team, which includes our analytic development teams, data architects, cloud DevOps engineers, lead management, data management and portfolio management.

Technical skills

* Strong programming skills.

* Python (Pandas, Numpy, PySpark, Jupyter, etc...) advantageous

* Git

* Data Engineering/Wrangling

* Advanced interactive data visualisation for understanding large, complex, or high-dimensional data.

* Tableau or equivalent is a plus.

* Fluency with SQL

* Desirable skills

* Artificial Intelligence / cognitive services

* Machine learning

* Supervised

* Unsupervised

* scikit-learn, etc…

* Deep Learning (e.g. Tensorflow/Keras)

* Automated descriptive analytics

* Geospatial data science / visualization

* Azure or similar cloud experience

* Azure ML Services or similar PAAS ML

* Anomaly detection

* GIS experience

* Diagnostics

* Experience with NoSQL

* Graph database experience

* Experience in decision augmentation/automation an advantage. e.g. Heuristic Optimization/ Reinforcement Learning, etc

* Optimization/planning/scheduling advantageous

* Apache Spark

Primary Responsibilities

* Work in agile teams delivering proof of concepts directly with the business

* Build state of the art models and data visualizations.

* Interpret and effectively communicate insights to the business and senior executives.

* Deliver actionable advice to our leadership teams.

* Collaborate with our cloud development, data engineering & DevOps teams

* Advise on appropriate technical solutions to business problems
