Located on the outskirts of Exeter in the heart of Devon, this company is a fast growing and highly successful proprietary software business. Established in 2003 they provide SaaS lead management solutions primarily to Motor Retailers and Manufactures in the UK, Europe and Global markets and are currently looking for a Software QA Engineer to join their team.

As a Software QA Engineer, you will play a leading role in maintaining exceptional product quality levels. Your responsibilities will range from test analysis & design through to test scripting, test execution and defect management. On that basis, this role is suited to test professionals with a broad testing skill-set.

Primary Responsibilities

- Test execution - execution of manual test scripts to test system functionality

- Requirements / design assurance - ensuring requirements and design documentation have clearly defined acceptance criteria and definition of done to allow successful testing

- Test analysis -identification of test cases from requirements and design specifications (functional specifications, user stories etc) and the creation of test scripts to exercise those test cases

- Test estimation - support project planning through the provision of estimates for testing activities

- Defect management -identification, recording and reporting of defects

- Test reporting -provision of test reports to project management on test execution progress

Essential Skills And Experience:

- Excellent understanding of software testing life cycles, with a strong understanding of test phases, usage of phase entry and exit criteria, test artefacts etc

- Excellent test analysis and test scripting skills to create test regimes from design documentation

- Strong experience of managing defects within a structured software testing environment

- Experience of designing and producing test execution reports

- Demonstrable experience of driving up quality through continuous improvement

Desirable but not Essential Skills And Experience:

- Experience of testing in an agile environment

- Experience of test analysis for non-functional testing

- Experience of wider lifecycle automation tools and processes (e.g continuous integration, deployment automation etc)

- Test automation experience e.g. Specflow, Selenium

- Knowledge of MS SQL

- Knowledge of MS .Net

- Experience with code repo's such as GIT, TFS
