Automation Test Engineer

New year is the best time to look for a job. Which is why I know that you have been reading the same adverts, written by the same set of recruiters. I want mine to be slightly different. Think of it as a journey. Sadly, I can only promise you a metaphorical journey, not a trip to the Bahamas!

Your journey begins with your, potential, new employer. This organisation are one of my longest standing clients and I have received positive feedback from candidates with regards to the interview process and the organisation. They are a consultancy firm who are, widely, recognised for providing leading solutions for the Public Sector. However, they also have projects within a number of industries.

The next destination on your journey is the role itself. The role comes as a result of a heavy recruitment drive across a number of their bases due to a high number of contracts being won recently. For this reason, mid and senior candidates are being considered for the positions suitable to their level of experience.

As a Automation Test Engineer you will be responsible for covering scripting and the execution of automated tests which will raise any defects. You will be expected to contribute as part of a team with daily stand up meetings and an Agile working environment.

Logistically, this position is based at the Bristol base. However, there may be travel involved and you should be flexible to work at a number of sites around the South of the UK. However, this will be paid for if travel and accommodation is required. Furthermore, as one becomes more senior within a position you will be rewarded with more remote working opportunities. Salary wise there is a range between £30000 to £47000 dependant on experience and position.

The final destination in our journey is the requirements of the role. The key skills for this role lie in the following:

* Test Automation experience including Continuous Integration.

* Experience with Selenium Web Driver or other technologies such as Cucumber or Gherkin.

* Demonstrable experience of Test Driven, Behaviour Driven and Acceptance Test Driven environments.
