Information Security Specialist / Location -West Midlands/ Permanent / Salary £38-45k

We are looking for information security Specialist to join a financial services client based in the West Midlands. You will working with the Security Manager and are focused on operation security alongside the risk and compliance side of the business and is responsible for the Audit processes.

Responsibilities

*Provide a 1st level response in the event of security incidents

*Complete business as usual security checks on core systems including access control, functional system security and technical compliance assurance.

*Monitor, investigate and resolve day to day responses from core security functions including e-mail filtering, web proxy, Data Loss Prevention and Anti-Virus/Malware.

*Monitor threat and vulnerability intelligence sources for any relevant information that may impact installed infrastructure.

*Optimise the information security environment, regularly testing the applications and infrastructure for any problems or vulnerabilities.

*Develop and distribute reports with system administrators about the efficiency of security policies and recommend any changes.

*Proactively contribute ideas and security best practices to develop our IT Security strategy, standards, policies and procedures and produce relevant documentation ensuring it is simple, clear and accessible to meet required standards.

Desirable

Financial Services background is desirable not essential.

SIEM experience would be ideal - Central console experience would be massively beneficial (use case management, security event monitoring, incident management)
